The basic style of this artwork is a traditional scholarly style found in Chinese paintings based upon the artist’s talents and learning. This painting belongs to the “Wenfeng” style. One can clearly see that extremely seasoned and mature brushwork skills were used and that this painting reflects the profound learning of a scholarly artist. The lofty mountains, murmuring spring, and ancient cypresses as dark as black dragons were essentially completed from top to bottom in one color-black. However, various levels of nearness and farness, an air of sedateness, and a natural charm and manifested.
